What We've been doing:

We are excited to update you about on the progress for the 1000 Wells Project. With the campaign.s launch in mid-February, we have seen tremendous enthusiasm and generous response from people all over the country and world who are dedicated to helping provide clean water for thousands of Africans.

• Jars of Clay toured heavily this spring, inviting each audience member to participate in the 1000 Wells Project. Every night they shared the news that $1 provides 1 year of water for an African, and subsequently invited each member of the audience to give $1 each. The response has been overwhelming!
• Our fundraising during a day of broadcasting on K-Love and Air One radio stations greatly surpassed any and all expectations, and brought both the need and the hope to the ears and hearts of hundreds of thousands of people. We are grateful for the platform given as well as the continued support by these and other radio stations.
• Schools, organizations, churches and families have participated in the 2 weeks of sacrifice (www.1000wells.com) where people have given up two weeks of all beverages except for water and donated the money they saved to the 1000 Wells Project. We have seen people all across the country find creative ways to bring awareness to the HIV/AIDS crisis and raise funds for Blood:Water Mission.s work in Africa.

What This Means:

As of May, we have initiated 42 water projects in 8 different countries, providing clean water for more than 35,000 Africans! We celebrate with you the things that God is doing to address the suffering, and we invite you to continue on this journey with us. Thank you for your support and for joining with us on this much-needed endeavor.

What You Can Do:

As we continue to fundraise for the 1000 Wells Project into the next year, here are some opportunities to get involved.

• Bring the 2 Weeks of Sacrifice campaign to your friends, fellow workers, family, and communities
• Bring Blood:Water Mission to the focus of your VBS, Missions Sundays/Weeks, and seasonal activities in your churches, schools, and campuses.
• Volunteer with our street teams at Jars of Clay and Derek Webb concerts (see schedule below). We have many regional and local artists involved in bringing our organization to their fans as well.
• Take advantage of matching donation opportunities via employers and businesses

We have a research and follow up team in Africa this month, meeting with local community leaders in Kenya, Uganda and South Africa in order to continue to seek excellence in our work. When they return in early July, we.ll have more pictures and stories to share on our website from communities where we've worked and continue to work. Meanwhile, please look for posting of their experiences on the website between now and the first week of July.
